Samantha Ann Bohnert has been making art “since she could hold a crayon.” She has not yet met a medium she didn’t like, and she especially loves to paint wall murals and to experiment with mixed-media pieces. Samantha studied for a year at Bethel University in St. Paul, and graduated with an Art major and a Psychology minor from Bemidji State University. Her husband’s job (Aron is the local music teacher) is what brought them to Littlefork.
Samantha first opened her small business, [DBA] Samplicity Art Hovel, in her hometown of Glencoe, MN in June of 2009. The Hovel currently hosts different shows every couple of months on the white gallery wall, and also keeps a variety of local fine crafts and art for sale around the room.
The Hovel is unique in that nearly everything there is absolutely one-of-a-kind and original (that is, the paintings you’re seeing are actual paint on canvas, not computer reproductions). You will also find hand-made cards, jewelry, knick-knacks, clothing, sketchbooks, pottery, toys, glassware, and gift certificates available in any dollar amount.
